Data Analysis Auditing Technology
----
Overview
Summary
This platform is a multi-layered suite of auditing tools that test large amounts of data. By analyzing whole populations to improve risk assessment, analysis, and testing, users are able to gain valuable insights.
The Problem
The firm decided to update their data analysis platform to encourage analysts' usage of the entire range of tools available to them. These tools are used to monitor trends, improve risk assessment, and forecast modeling. Many of the users were solely utilizing Excel spreadsheets to perform their tasks, however this became very time consuming and inefficient.
The Approach
Design System
One of the major issues of the existing suite was the inconsistency of design patterns. While there was a generally common look and feel to the platform, several adopted tools contained their original UI. The objective was to unify this platform to function and feel more like a suite of tools in harmony with one another to create a clean, user friendly environement. With this, we began creating a design system of elements that mirrored several of their other digital services. This ensured users would work amongst familiar territory, thus improving efficiency of future development.

My Contribution
As this suite entailed many tools and features, there was constant maintenance of legacy items to be done, along with the development of new items. My contribution to the platform ranged from redesigning a calculation tool to the design and research task of brand new apps and features. (See Data Mapping Feature to read the case study of one of these projects)
With a diversity of projects came a need for structured flow of expectations and deadlines to move our designs forward.
From scratch, I designed a flow sheet layout of task delegation for my entire team. This fluid document was dynamic in nature, as it allowed for seamless role change when new challenges arose. Once my concept received buy-in from my team, we developed a project management system together that worked well for all of us. By clearly defining each members' specific expectations, it greatly reduced ambiguity. This helped improve deliverables met by the team overall.
